Toyo tires.

Toyo is a Japanese tire maker founded in 1945 and headquartered in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. It has built a strong following for its Open Country line of truck and SUV tires and for its Proxes performance range. In our lineup it sits in the mid-range tier, offering durable, capable engineering a step below the flagship premium brands, known especially for all-terrain and off-road fitments.

Where Toyo sits

Toyo is a strong mid-range brand with a particular strength in truck and SUV tires, sitting between our value tier and the premium tier. That is where we see it chosen most often, and the Open Country line has a loyal following among drivers who mix pavement with gravel and trails.

The cost buys durability and consistent grip under load and in demanding conditions, which is exactly what a working truck or an off-road weekend asks of a tire. The Proxes range brings the same engineering to performance driving.

We recommend Toyo especially to truck and SUV owners, and we frame it around how and where you drive rather than a ranking against another brand.

Who Toyo suits

Pickup and SUV owners splitting time between highway, gravel and trail, the exact mix the Open Country line targets.

Rural New Brunswick drivers who want durable, capable tires for mixed surfaces.

Performance drivers after a summer or track-capable tire from the Proxes range.

Whichever tire you choose, fitting is charged at our published flat rates, so the install cost is known before you decide on the tire.

How we back the tires we install

Coverage varies from one tire to the next, so we confirm the exact manufacturer coverage on the set you choose before you buy. We keep that paperwork on file, so if you ever need to make a claim the record is there and the claim goes through.

On our side of the counter the promises are simple. Sizing is worth double-checking before you buy: your door placard lists the tire size your vehicle is built for, and the sidewall of the tire you are replacing shows it too. Tell us what you find and we will gladly help you match it. We re-torque your wheels for free after your first drive, once everything has settled. And if a problem ever comes down to our workmanship, we make it right.

The honest math on price

A premium tire often costs less per kilometre over its life, because it can last longer and wear more evenly, so a lower sticker price does not always mean a lower total cost. We would rather show you the total you actually pay, tires plus fitting, than quote one number and let the other surprise you later.

Fitting is charged at our published flat rates, whether you need an on-rim swap or an off-rim change. See how long a set really lasts, browse all our tire services, or compare Toyo sets in the shop.

Toyo tires: common questions

Is Toyo the same company as Toyota?

No. Toyo Tire is a separate, independent Japanese company founded in 1945, and it is not owned by or part of Toyota. The similar names cause a lot of confusion, but they are unrelated businesses.

Are Toyo Open Country tires good off-road?

The Open Country line is one of Toyo's best-known ranges and includes all-terrain and more aggressive off-road patterns built for trucks and SUVs that see gravel, mud and trails as well as highway. The right one depends on how much of your driving is off pavement, so tell us your vehicle and typical routes and we will match the fitment.

Are Toyo tires worth it?

Often, yes, because a well-made tire can cost less per kilometre over its life once you spread the price across longer tread wear and steadier performance. What matters is the total you actually pay, the tires plus fitting, and we show that up front before you commit. For some drivers a value tire is the smarter call, and we will give you an honest answer for how you actually drive.

Do you carry Toyo tires in my size?

We fit Toyo across a wide range of sizes, from passenger cars to crossovers, SUVs and light trucks. Search by your tire size or your vehicle in our shop, or send us your year, make and model and we will confirm the fitments and quote the set.
