The name is an English rendering of the founder's surname, which combines the Japanese words for stone and bridge. It is one of the world's largest tire manufacturers and a longtime supplier to carmakers and motorsport. Manufacturer warranty

Coverage on Bridgestonetires is the manufacturer's, not ours. We file the claim for you and keep your receipt, odometer reading and service history on file so it goes through cleanly.

Treadwear	65,000 to 130,000 km across 29 lines.
Workmanship	5 years, free replacement for an initial period then prorated.
Road hazard	Not part of this manufacturer's published warranty. Tires damaged due to road hazards, misapplication or abuse are listed as not covered by this limited warranty.
Trial	90 day buy and try period. Bridgestone brand passenger and light truck tires sold in sets of four or more through an authorized retailer may be returned to the location where they were originally purchased within 90 days of purchase for a full refund or exchange, with original proof of purchase. Partial sets are not accepted. Excluded: run flat patterns other than DriveGuard, Potenza RE960AS RFT and Turanza EL400 RFT; Potenza RE-11, RE-11A, RE-11R and RE71R; pursuit tires; original equipment tires on new vehicles; winter and temporary spare tires; commercial truck sizes 17.5 and 19.5; and flotation sizes.
A claim needs	original purchaser tires still mounted on the vehicle described in the Customer Identification Section of the manual proof of purchase date vehicle odometer kilometres at installation and at removal, for a mileage claim the vehicle the tire was fitted to, available for inspection tire presented to an authorized Bridgestone or Firestone brand tire retailer completed and signed customer section of the Bridgestone Canada Inc. limited warranty adjustment form

Are Bridgestone Blizzak tires good for winter here?

The Blizzak line is one of the better known dedicated winter tires and has a strong reputation on snow and ice, which is why we are asked for it often heading into a New Brunswick winter. It is a true winter tire with a cold-weather compound, a different category from an all-season rather than a costlier version of one. Is Bridgestone the same as Firestone?

Bridgestone acquired the Firestone brand in 1988, so they share a parent company, but they are sold as separate lines. We list tires under the name printed on them and how people search, so if you are weighing the two you are choosing between lines from one company rather than between rivals.
