Hifly sits at the budget end of the market, and we'd rather be straightforward about that than dress it up. It is not a premium tire and it is not pretending to be one.

What it is, is the answer to a real and very common problem: it is October, the weather has turned, the vehicle is on worn all-seasons, and the budget for four premium winters is not there this year. In that situation the meaningful safety gap is not between a budget winter tire and a premium one. It is between a proper winter tire and no winter tire at all, and that gap is enormous.

A new budget winter tire, correctly sized and properly fitted, will outperform a worn all-season on a cold Fredericton morning by a margin that is not close. That is the comparison that matters when money is the constraint.

How we back the tires we install

Coverage varies from one tire to the next, so we confirm the exact manufacturer coverage on the set you choose before you buy. We keep that paperwork on file, so if you ever need to make a claim the record is there and the claim goes through.

On our side of the counter the promises are simple. Sizing is worth double-checking before you buy: your door placard lists the tire size your vehicle is built for, and the sidewall of the tire you are replacing shows it too. Tell us what you find and we will gladly help you match it. We re-torque your wheels for free after your first drive, once everything has settled. And if a problem ever comes down to our workmanship, we make it right.

The honest math on price

A premium tire often costs less per kilometre over its life, because it can last longer and wear more evenly, so a lower sticker price does not always mean a lower total cost. We would rather show you the total you actually pay, tires plus fitting, than quote one number and let the other surprise you later.

Manufacturer warranty

Coverage on HiFlytires is the manufacturer's, not ours. We file the claim for you and keep your receipt, odometer reading and service history on file so it goes through cleanly.

Treadwear	No distance figure published.
Workmanship	5 years, free replacement for an initial period then prorated.
Road hazard	One year from date of purchase, or the first 25 percent of original usable tread, whichever comes first VERIFIED on the current document: the one year or 25 percent figure is correct for HiFly. Applies to select passenger and light truck patterns only, not the whole range. The current version adds wording absent from the January 2024 version, calling the program a gesture of goodwill rather than a warranty against road hazard failure. Mounting, balancing and applicable taxes are the consumer's responsibility. Are budget tires like Hifly safe?

A new, correctly sized, properly fitted budget tire is a safe tire: it meets the same regulatory requirements to be sold here as any other. What you give up against a premium brand is margin at the extremes: braking distances on ice and in heavy wet, and tread life. The comparison worth making is the honest one. A budget winter tire versus a premium winter tire is a real but manageable difference. A budget winter tire versus worn all-seasons in January is not close at all.

Should I buy budget winter tires or premium all-seasons?

Winter tires, without much hesitation. This is the single most common version of this question and the answer rarely changes. Winter tires work through a compound that stays flexible below roughly 7°C: an all-season, however good and however expensive, progressively hardens in that range. Category beats badge here: the cheapest true winter tire is doing something the priciest all-season structurally cannot.

How long will a set of Hifly tires last?

Less than a premium set, generally, and we won't quote you a kilometre figure because it depends far more on your driving, your pressures and your rotation habits than on the badge. What we will say is that tread life is the main thing you're trading away at this price, so keeping pressures right and rotating on schedule pays back proportionally more on a budget tire than on an expensive one.
