Where Sailun sits

Sailun has moved from an unfamiliar name to a mainstream one over the last decade, and it did that on the strength of two categories in particular: winter tires and all-terrain tires for light trucks. Both are areas where the value tier has closed a lot of the gap on the premium tier.

Their compound work is marketed under the EcoPoint3 name, aimed at the standing trade-off in tire design between tread life, rolling resistance and wet grip: improving one usually costs you another. Treat that as a design intent rather than a guarantee, but the reputation the winter line has built in Atlantic Canada is real enough that it arrives by word of mouth as often as by advertising.

Where Sailun genuinely competes is on cost per winter. A premium winter tire may out-brake it on glare ice by a margin that matters to some drivers. For many others, two seasons of the difference in price buys a great deal of other maintenance.

Who Sailun suits

Drivers who want a genuine winter tire rather than an all-season compromise, and who would rather spend the difference on getting all four corners done properly than on a premium badge for two of them.

Pickup and light-truck owners splitting time between highway and gravel: the all-terrain line is built for exactly that mix, and rural New Brunswick roads are the environment it's aimed at.

Anyone weighing studded against studless: both exist in the winter line, and which one is right depends far more on your commute than on the badge. We'll talk it through rather than default you to the more expensive option.

How we back the tires we install

Coverage varies from one tire to the next, so we confirm the exact manufacturer coverage on the set you choose before you buy. We keep that paperwork on file, so if you ever need to make a claim the record is there and the claim goes through.

On our side of the counter the promises are simple. Sizing is worth double-checking before you buy: your door placard lists the tire size your vehicle is built for, and the sidewall of the tire you are replacing shows it too. Tell us what you find and we will gladly help you match it. We re-torque your wheels for free after your first drive, once everything has settled. And if a problem ever comes down to our workmanship, we make it right.

The honest math on price

A premium tire often costs less per kilometre over its life, because it can last longer and wear more evenly, so a lower sticker price does not always mean a lower total cost. We would rather show you the total you actually pay, tires plus fitting, than quote one number and let the other surprise you later.

Manufacturer warranty

Coverage on Sailuntires is the manufacturer's, not ours. We file the claim for you and keep your receipt, odometer reading and service history on file so it goes through cleanly.

Treadwear	60,000 to 130,000 km across 15 lines.
Workmanship	5 years, free replacement for an initial period then prorated.
Road hazard	Two years from date of purchase, or the first 3/32 inch of original usable tread, whichever comes first Described as a limited, free replacement road hazard program applying to all Sailun passenger and light truck patterns. An un-repairable tire is replaced with a similar new Sailun tire. Tires repairable to RMA standards are excluded and are repaired at the owner's expense. The often repeated one year or 25 percent tread figure is NOT what this page states for road hazard: 25 percent and 12 months are the free replacement window for the workmanship and materials coverage instead.
Trial	30 days, on select patterns only. Within 30 days of purchase an unsatisfied buyer returns to the original place of purchase for a full credit toward a different set. The table marks Inspire, Atrezzo SH408, Atrezzo SVA2, Atrezzo 4S, Atrezzo SUV TCON, TerraMax HT2, TerraMax AT2 and TerraMax RT as covered.

Sailun tires: common questions

Are Sailun winter tires good enough for a New Brunswick winter?

Yes, for the large majority of drivers. The Ice Blazer line is a true winter tire with a cold-weather compound and a winter tread pattern, which is the thing that actually matters: it's a different category from an all-season, not a cheaper version of one. A premium winter tire will still beat it on glare ice by some margin. Whether that margin is worth the price difference depends on your commute, and we'll give you a straight answer if you describe it to us.

Can I get Sailun winter tires studded?

The Ice Blazer winter line includes studdable patterns, so yes for those fitments. Studs help most on packed snow and glare ice and do very little on bare pavement, where they're noisier and wear faster. If your drive is mostly cleared city streets, studless is usually the better call. Tell us your route and we'll advise rather than guess.

What's the difference between Sailun and Atrezzo?

Atrezzo is Sailun's passenger-car line, so they're from the same manufacturer rather than being rivals. In practice we point people toward the Sailun name for winter and all-terrain fitments, and toward Atrezzo for touring and performance fitments.

Do you fit Sailun all-terrain tires on trucks?

Yes, light-truck and all-terrain fitments are a normal part of what we do, and our published install rates cover them. Call with your size or your vehicle and we'll quote the set and book the install.
