When studded tires are legal in New Brunswick
New Brunswick's Motor Vehicle Act (RSNB 1973, c. M-17, s. 241(3)(c)) permits studded snow tires of a type approved by the Registrar at any time except during the period commencing on the first day of May and ending on the fifteenth day of October in every year. Plainly: studded tires are prohibited from May 1 through October 15, which leaves them permitted from October 16 through April 30.
The Act also lets the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure enlarge that window by order in exceptional weather (s. 241(3)(d)), and the province's own winter driving page states the same window in looser terms. Fitting a studded set
Fitting is charged at our published flat rates, the same rates every tire install uses: an on-rim swap, your tires already on their own rims, starts at $35 for a full set of four. A full off-rim change, loose tires dismounted, mounted, and balanced, starts at $70 for a set of four.
